William
Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and actor who born on 26 April 1564
in Stratford-upon-Avon. His birth and death dates were same. His father
name was John Shakespeare who was a leather merchant and mother name was Mary
Arden who was a local landed heiress. He was the third child of John
Shakespeare and Mary Arden. William had two elder sisters, Joan and Judith, and
three younger brothers, Gilbert, Richard and Edmund. On November 28, 1582 William
Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway in Worcester, in Canterbury Province. The
couple had their first daughter on May 26, 1583 whose name was Susanna. On
February 2, 1585, twins Hamnet and Judith were born. Scholars
agree that Shakespeare was probably educated at the King's New School, in
Stratford, which taught reading, writing and the classics. Being a public official's child,
William would have undoubtedly qualified for free tuition. It is not
confirmed that when he began writing but it is in records that several of his
plays were on the London stage by 1592. In 1594 some of his plays were
published in quarto editions and by 1598 his name had become a selling point
and began to appear on the title page. And after his success as a playwright he
starts to work in his own and other plays. He was an
extensive writer. He also wrote many poetries, plays, books and very
interesting quotes. His most famous quote about positive thinking is given
below, “There is
nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Throughout
his career, he divided his time between London and Stratford. Shakespeare died
on 23 April 1616, at the age of 52.
