Herb Kelleher
was born on 12th of March 1931 in Camden, New Jersey. His father
name was Harry Kelleher who was the general manager at a Campbell's Soup
factory and his mother name was Ruth Moore. He married to Joan Negley in 1955
and they have four children.
He completed
his graduation from Haddon Heights High School. And then he went to Wesleyan
University for further studies and there he was an Olin Scholar and where his
major was English and his minor Philosophy. And after getting his bachelor’s
degree from Wesleyan he went to New York University for his law degree from
there. And then he practice law before relocating to Texas.
He moved to
Texas where he starts a business. Herbert ‘Herb’ Dwight Kelleher co-founded the
pioneering airlines ‘Southwest’. He established the airline company in 1971
which offers low fares to passengers by excluding needless services. In 2008
Kelleher resign from the post of Chairman and the Board of Directors. In 2010
he was reappointed at the post.
His company
is the most liked airlines company because of its low fares and the jolly behavior
of its employees. Jolly behavior doesn’t means they are not serious in doing
their jobs. This company is most liked and in the leading five companies in America.
Kelleher was
also a good author he wrote many interesting and deep meaning quotes for his Clients

Now he is not with us. He was died on 3rd
January 2019 at the age of 87. He got many awards due to his struggle such as the
‘Tony Jannus Award for outstanding leadership in the commercial aviation
industry’ (1993), the ‘L. Welch Pogue Award for Lifetime Achievement in
Aviation’ (2005) and ‘Charles Lindbergh Award for Excellence in aviation’
(2006). He got the ‘Bower Award’ for business leadership in 2003.
