She was raised in the suburban town of Rye, New York. She and Abigail Adams were the only women, so far, in American history who have been the wife of one President and the mother of another President.She met her future husband when she was 16 and he was 17 years old. She was married to George Bush on 6 January 1945 who became vice president in 1981 and president in 1989. They have 6 children named George W. Bush, Pauline Pierce "Robin”, Jeb Bush, Neil Bush, Marvin Bush and Doro Bush.Attended Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York, but graduated from Ashley Hall in Charleston, South Carolina in 1943.She attended Milton Public School from 1931 to 1937, Rye Country Day School until 1940 and later the boarding school Ashley Hall in Charleston, South Carolina, from 1940 to 1943.
